Marc T. frequently uses the video graphic 16:9 widescreen as the standard picture format for his work. The 16:9 format allows him to enhance a sense of expansiveness and temporality, by creating the impression of hidden vistas and by embodying the simultaneous promise of impending action that has yet to unroll. This is the essence of his photography; it is the art of the moment and the promise of more. The dynamic resulting from his use of the 16:9 format increases each work’s photographic narrative and allows Marc T. to emphasize certain details and aspects of the depicted surroundings as being essential to that specific environment and moment.

The contemporary plays a major role in Marc T.’s photography. Thematically and conceptually he always works in a spirit of the contemporary and is little or not at all concerned with the past. The photo he took yesterday only serves to show him the way to taking tomorrow's photo in a different way.

"Be daring, Be different, Be impractical, Be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary"

There’s always a human dimension to Marc T.'s photography. You can’t immediately stick a label on his photography, such as social photography or street photography. He doesn't think about that at all, it’s not what makes him tick. The human dimension, in the literal sense of the word, interests him. You can easily photograph an environment devoid of people, or in which people have almost disappeared altogether. That environment can tell us more about humanity. More so than if you were to make a straightforward portrait of someone. He places man in the centre of the environment anyhow, because the environment is man-made. Only then do you have a complete picture. That is a recurring element in his work.
